Make sure you have...
Frying pan, Stovetop
Step 1
Wash the bell pepper & cut around the seeds. Cut into thin slices.
Step 2
Wash & slice the tomatoes into thins quarters.
Step 3
Peel & slice the onions into thin strips.
Step 4
Peel & finely mince the garlic.
Step 5
Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a pan, over medium heat. Add the grated garlic & onions. Sauté for 2-3 min.
Step 6
Add the tomatoes & peppers to the pan et stir. Add the cumin & any other spice to your liking.* Cover & leave to simmer 25-30 min, stirring occasionally. *Check out our tips for this step
Step 7
Make some space in the pan & delicately crack the eggs. Season them with salt & pepper. Cover & leave to cook for 3-4 min, over low heat.
Step 8
Serve the shakshuka with some fresh coriander, if you have some. Re-season to taste & enjoy !
For a truly flavoursome dish, we suggest adding raz el hanout, smoked paprika or chilli powder.
