Stovetop, Kitchen towel, Pot (small), Peeler, Grater, Frying pan
Step 1
Wash and peel the potatoes.
Step 2
Peel the outer skin of the onion.
Step 3
Grate the potato and onion.
Step 4
Remove excess water by squeezing the vegetables in a dish cloth.
Step 5
In a bowl, add the grated veggies, flour, egg, salt & pepper. Mix well to combine*. *Check out our tips for this step.
Step 6
In a frying pan on high heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Drop 2 tablespoons of the potato mixture.
Step 7
Flatten the mixture by pressing down with the back of a spoon. Cook for 5-6 minutes before flipping.
Step 8
Flip the pancakes and cook for another 5-6 minutes.
Step 9
The pancakes should be golden brown.
Step 10
Serve with a spoonful of crème fraîche and a slice of smoked salmon per person. Optional: Add fresh herbs, such as chives or parsley. It's ready!
