Yellow onion

Step 1

Peel the onions and slice them into thin rings.

Step 2

In a hot saucepan, melt a knob of butter. Add the onions and sauté until lightly browned. Optional : for a thicker soup, add one tablespoon of flour per portion.

Chicken bouillon (cube)

Step 3

Add 250 ml of water per person and the stock cube. Mix and season to taste. Optional : add a drizzle of white wine, to taste. Simmer for 20 minutes over medium heat.

Country bread (sliced)
Shredded cheese

Step 4

Place the bread on baking sheet covered with baking paper. Sprinkle all over with grated cheese and toast in the oven until the cheese is melted & the bread crispy.

Step 5

Serve the soup with the cheese toast. Enjoy !
