Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Roll out the first pastry on to a flat surface. Spread the chocolate spread on top.

Place the second roll of pastry exactly on top of the first.

In a small bowl, add a tbsp of water to the egg yolk. Paint the egg mixture on top of the pastry.

Step 4

Place a glass in the middle, then cut 24 sections (cut into 4, then each quarter into 3, then each slice in half) outwards from the glass. Leave the center whole. Gently twist each slice without tearing it.

Hazelnuts

Step 5

Remove the glass. Optional: add some shaved almonds on top. Bake for 25 minutes. Once the pastry is nice and golden, take it out. Serve with icing sugar on top.
