Creamy, comforting & delicious, nothing beats a good polenta!
Make sure you have...
Stovetop, Pot (small), Frying pan
Step 1
Peel & thinly slice the onions.
Step 2
Clean & thinly slice the mushrooms.
Step 3
Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the onions, mushrooms, salt & pepper. Stir & cook 4-5 min until slightly softened.
Step 4
Meanwhile, prepare the polenta according to package instructions. Once it has slightly thickened, add a dab of butter & season with pepper & spices to your liking. Mix well & set aside to keep warm.
Step 5
In a second pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil. Add the steak and cook it for 2 minutes on each side, over high heat, for rare cooking. Salt and pepper on each side.
Step 6
Once the mushrooms are cooked, add the cream and mustard. Mix, then simmer for an additional 1 to 2 minutes, so that the sauce thickens.
Step 7
On a plate, serve the polenta with the steak and the cream of mushroom soup on top. Re-season to taste and add a few sprigs of parsley, if you have any. It's ready !
