Make sure you have...

Butter (unsalted) (1 Dab),

Water (200 ml)

Stovetop, Pot (small), Blender

Yellow onion

Step 1

Peel & finely dice the onions.

Garlic

Step 2

Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a saucepan, over medium heat. Add the onions & grated garlic. Sauté for 1-2 min.

Split peas

Step 3

Add 200ml of water per serving & les split peas. Bring to a boil, cover & leave to simmer for 40-45 min, over low heat.

Step 4

Once cooked through, blend the split peas, until smooth. If needed, add some extra water & blend again. Add a dab a butter & stir to combine.

Ham (deli slices)

Step 5

Serve the split pea mash with the cured ham. Re-season to taste & enjoy !
