The secret for speedy bolognese sauce: Grate the carrots so they cook super quickly!
Make sure you have...
Stovetop, Peeler, Pot (small), Grater, Frying pan
Step 1
Chop the onions and mince the garlic.
Step 2
Peel and grate the carrots.
Step 3
Add a drizzle of olive oil to a pan, then add the carrots, onions and garlic. Sauté for 5 minutes over medium heat.
Step 4
Add the ground beef and brown for 5 minutes over medium-high heat.
Step 5
Add the tomato purée and oregano. Season with salt and pepper and simmer for 10 minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally.
Step 6
Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to the package instructions.
Step 7
When done, drain the spaghetti and add to the sauce. (Tip: Reserve a bit of cooking water to thin the sauce, if needed.)
Step 8
Serve, sprinkled with grated parmesan and a bit more oregano. Buon appetito!
