A classic chocolate cake recipe to decorate as you wish!
Make sure you have...
Mixing bowl, Whisk, Oven, Sheet Tray, Pot (small), Stovetop, Microwave
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C. In a pot, melt the chocolate and butter over low heat, until you obtain a smooth mixture.
Step 2
Separate the whites from the egg yolks.
Step 3
In a large bowl, add the egg yolks and sugar. Whisk with 20g of water (quantities for I cake), until you obtain a smooth mixture.
Step 4
Stir in the chocolate & melted butter into the egg mixture. Add the flour and yeast. Mix again.
Step 5
Beat the whites until stiff & gently add them little by little to the mixture
Step 6
Line the bottom of a cake mould with a sheet of baking paper, & butter the sides of the mould. Pour in the cake batter & bake for 35 minutes at 180°C
Step 7
Leave the cake to cool down before un-moulding it by turning it over & removing the baking paper. Sprinkle over with icing sugar & enjoy !
