A dish that smells like summer, olive oil, and parmesan... Enjoy it al fresco with some candles on the table!
Make sure you have...
Stovetop, Pot (small), Colander, Frying pan
Step 1
Fill a medium sized bowl with cool water and squeeze the lemon juice into it.
Step 2
Remove the outer petals of the artichoke until only the inner ones are left. (It will resemble a tulip.)
Step 3
Cut off the bottom of the stem and the top half of the artichoke petals. Slice off the outer layer of the stem, and then cut the artichoke into halves or quarters.
Step 4
Once they're cut and peeled, place each artichoke in the lemon water. (This will keep them from oxidizing.)
Step 5
Boil the lemon water in a pot, adding some salt. Add the artichokes and cook for 5 minutes.
Step 6
When they're done boiling, drain the artichokes and place them in a pan with a drizzle of olive oil (option: add some thyme if you have any), and salt and pepper.
Step 7
Cook on high heat for 5-10 minutes until the artichokes are golden brown.
Step 8
Serve with some thinly sliced parmesan (option: garnish with thyme), lemon zest, and a drizzle of olive oil.
Step 9
Enjoy!
