Step 1

Rinse the cherries, cut them in half and remove the pit.

Flour (all-purpose)
Sugar (granulated)
Butter (unsalted)

Step 2

Preheat the oven to 200°C. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Melt the butter for 15 seconds in the microwave and add to the bowl. Mix until well combined.

Step 3

Form the dough into a ball and place it on a piece of parchment paper.

Step 4

Roll the dough into a circle, about 1/4 inch thick.

Cherries (fresh)

Step 5

Sprinkle the almond flour over the dough.

Step 6

Spread the cherries on top of the dough, leaving a 1-2 inch border.

Step 7

Fold in the edges of the dough and press down lightly.

Step 8

Optional: add a few dabs of butter and some cane sugar on top of the dough. This will lightly caramelize in the oven.

Step 9

Bake for 30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Optional: Serve with vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
