Milk (whole)
Sugar (granulated)

Step 1

Add the milk, rice and half the sugar* to a pot. *Check out our tips for this step

Step 2

Cook over medium heat for 30 minutes while stirring occasionally.

Sugar (granulated)

Step 3

To make the caramel, add the remaining sugar to a small pot.

Step 4

Heat over medium heat without stirring until it melts and starts to caramelize. Gently stir.

Heavy cream

Step 5

Gradually add the cream while mixing.

Butter (salted)

Step 6

Add the butter and mix. Add a pinch of salt. Remove from the heat and set aside until the rice finishes cooking.

Step 7

The rice pudding is cooked when it becomes creamy.

Step 8

Serve in small bowls, add the caramel, and enjoy!
