Step 1

Take the butter out of the fridge so gets to room temperature. Preheat the oven to 180°C.

In a mixing bowl, add: the flour, the sugar*, a pinch of salt and the butter. Rub everything together using your fingers until you have a sandy texture. *Check out our tips for this step

Wash and peel the pears. Chop them into quarters and then cubes. Break up the chocolate.

Roughly chop the chocolate.

Add the fruits to an oven-proof dish, a proportionate size to the quantity of fruit. The ideal amount of fruit should be a 4-5cm layer. Add the chocolate.

Step 6

Sprinkle the crumble mixture on top. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes

Step 7

Remove the crumble when the top is nice and golden. Eat hot or cold, alone or with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of crème fraîche.
