Oven, Stovetop, Pot (small), Colander, Baking dish
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Cut the ends of the leeks, slice into 10-15cm chunks. Place the leek in a colander & wash under cold water to remove all impurities.
Step 2
In a pot of boiling water, add the leeks. Pre-cook for 7-8 min. Once pre-cooked, drain & slice the leeks in half lengthwise.
Step 3
Add the leeks in an oven-proof dish. Season with salt & pepper & top with grated cheese & crème fraîche. Add a second layer of leeks followed by the slices of ham roughly cut into pieces. Top with grated cheese & crème fraîche. Bake in the oven for 30 min at 180°C. *Check out our tips for this step
Step 4
Once the cheese has melted & it golden brown, remove the dish from the oven & serve with a side of salad. Enjoy !
For a truly flavoursome dish, we suggest swapping out the crème fraîche for a homemade bechamel sauce.
