Reinvent Sunday brunch with these delicious homemade bagels!
Oven
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 200°C. In a bowl, mix: flour, baking powder and salt.
Step 2
Add the Greek yogurt. Mix, then knead the dough until it is smooth and supple (it will be sticky)*. Form a ball with the dough. *Consult our tips for this step
Step 3
Lightly flour a clean work surface and place the dough on it. Divide it into pieces of equal weight (around 115g).
Step 4
Shape the bagels. Roll the pieces of dough to form balls. Place your thumb in the center and make a hole in the ball, then place your previously floured index finger in the hole and rotate the bagel around your finger in circular motions to enlarge the hole. Repeat with the remaining pieces of dough.
Step 5
Arrange the bagels on a baking sheet covered with baking paper, spacing them apart. Brush them with beaten egg, then sprinkle them with sesame seeds and/or grated cheese. Vary the pleasures by using the toppings of your choice: poppy seeds, fried onions, etc.
Step 6
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes at 200°C. Once golden brown, remove the bagels from the oven.
Step 7
Slice the bagels in half and top them with the ingredients of your choice. Serve & enjoy!
If the dough is too sticky, sprinkle it with flour to make it easier to work with.
