If you like french toast and if you like apple pie, you will love this dessert!
Make sure you have...
Stovetop, Oven, Pot (small), Frying pan, Tart pan
Step 1
Pour 3/4 of the sugar and 1/3 cup of water in a pot and heat on medium for 10-15 minutes until it starts to caramelize (it should reach a nice golden color).
Step 2
In the meantime, peel the apples and cut them into quarters.
Step 3
Once the caramel is ready, pour it into the pie dish while it's still hot.
Step 4
In a large pan, sauté the apples with the butter and lemon juice for 10 minutes. Mix frequently.
Step 5
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Whisk the eggs with the rest of the sugar, the cream and milk.
Step 6
Once the apples are cooked, add them to the pie dish on top of the caramel.
Step 7
Dip the slices of brioche in the cream and egg mixture and tightly place them on top of the apples. Bake for 30 minutes at 180°C.
Step 8
Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before flipping it over onto a plate. Enjoy!
