Rare, medium or well done - how do you eat your flank steak?

Step 1
Cook the potatoes according to the instructions on the package. (About 15 minutes in a hot pan). Season to your taste.
Step 2
Meanwhile, mince the shallots.
Step 3
Add half the butter to a hot pan and cook the shallots for 2 minutes on medium heat.
Step 4
Once the shallots are transparent, add the rest of the butter (about 2 teaspoons per person) and the steak and cook for 2 minutes while basting the steak with the melted butter. Cook for longer depending on how you like your meat cooked.
Step 5
Remove the steak from the pan once cooked to your liking. Add a few tablespoons of water to the pan and let it thicken to create a sauce.
Step 6
Slice the meat.
Step 7
Serve the steak with the potatoes, the pan drippings and shallots. Season with salt & pepper and enjoy!
