Red onion

Step 1

Peel & cut the onions into thin slices.

Step 2

Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a pan, over high heat. Add the onions & sauté for 2 min, stirring.

Chickpeas (canned)

Step 3

Add the chickpeas to the pan. Season with salt & pepper & continue cooking for another 3-4 min, stirring frequently.

Tomato sauce (basil)

Step 4

Add the tomato sauce & stir to evenly coat.

Egg

Step 5

Make some space in the pan & delicately crack the eggs. Season them with salt & pepper. Cover & leave to cook for 3-4 min, over low heat.

Feta cheese (block)

Step 6

Serve the shakshuka with the crumbled feta cheese, a few slices of red onion & some fresh herbs, if you have some. Re-season to taste & enjoy !
