Do you say "dulce de leche" or simply "caramel"? Whatever you call it, it's absolutely delicious !
Oven, Whisk, Cake pan
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C fan. In a mixing bowl add (quantities for 1 cake): 1 small pot yogurt. Be careful to keep the yogurt pot as it will be your measuring tool throughout the rest of the recipe.
Step 2
Add 1 pot sugar, 3 pots flour, yeast, eggs, 1/2 pot vegetable oil, a pinch of salt, then mix vigorously with a whisk until you have a smooth batter.
Step 3
Oil your loaf tin (we used a 29 x 10 cm dish here), then pour in half of the batter. Add half of the dulce de leche, spreading it over the top, then pour the rest of the batter on top & finish with the rest of the dulce de leche.
Step 4
Insert a skewer or the tip of a knife, moving it in swirls to form a marble effect that will show when the loaf is cut. Bake at 180°C for 30 minutes.
Step 5
Once the loaf is golden, plant the tip of a knife into the center of the loaf. If it comes out clean, the loaf is ready, otherwise, bake it for another 2-3 min. Leave to cool before serving. Enjoy !
