Oven, Microwave, Sheet Tray
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 210°C. Rinse the cherries, removing the stalks and stones or leaving them if you wish.
Step 2
If you're leaving the stones, watch out for your teeth when it comes to eating it! This traditional recipe keeps them ;)
Step 3
In a bowl, mix: the flour, sugar, a pinch of salt (optional: vanilla sugar).
Step 4
Mix in the eggs, then the milk little by little, continuously mixing until you have a smooth, lump-free mixture.
Step 5
Add in the melted butter.
Step 6
Grease your cake pan (we used a 31 cm diameter dish here), add the cherries, spreading them out along the bottom. Pour on the cake batter.
Step 7
Cook for 10 minutes at 210°C, then lower the heat to 180°C and cook for 20 minutes more.
Step 8
Serve lukewarm or cold (optional: add icing sugar to decorate).
