Stovetop, Pot (small), Frying pan

Broccoli (fresh)

Step 1

Wash & cut the broccoli into florets. Keep 1-2 florets for plating.

Step 2

In a pot of salted boiling water, add the broccoli. Cook for 7-8 min.

Beef (top round steak)

Step 3

Meanwhile, heat a drizzle of olive oil in a pan, over high heat. Add the beef & cook 1 min on each side.

Soy sauce
Balsamic vinegar
Sugar (granulated)

Step 4

Add the soy sauce, balsamic vinegar & sugar to the pan. Lightly stir & flip the beef to coat it evenly. Remove the steak from the heat & keep warm. Reduce the sauce for 1-2 min, stirring continuously, over medium heat.

Step 5

Once cooked through, drain the broccoli & cool down under cold water.

Step 6

In a bowl, add : the broccoli, half of the cooking sauce & a drizzle of olive oil. Season with pepper & gently mix.

Step 7

Cut the remaining raw broccoli florets into thin slices.

Step 8

Slice the steak into thin strips.

Peanuts

Step 9

Serve the marinated broccoli with the thin strips of beef. Top with the raw broccoli, remaining sauce & roughly chopped peanuts. Serve with a side of white rice or quinoa, if you wish & enjoy !
