recipe

  • Step 1
Preheat your oven to 200°C. Divide the pecans in 2: keep one cup of whole pecans for decoration. Crush the rest.
  • Step 2
In a large bowl, mix : 150g of flour, 100g of brown sugar*, 100g of softened butter & a pinch of salt, until you obtain a crumbly dough. *Check out our tips for this step
  • Step 3
Pour the dough into a pie pan (24cm diameter) and flatten it, forming the edges well. You can use the bottom of a glass to flatten it.
  • Step 4
Shave the edges with a knife to make them even. Place in the fridge while preparing for the next step.
  • Step 5
Mix the remaining brown sugar, white sugar, 1 tablespoon of flour, the eggs and the remaining melted butter in a bowl.
  • Step 6
Stir in the crushed nuts and vanilla extract.
  • Step 7
Pour the mixture into the pie pan and spread it out evenly over the dough. Decorate with the whole pecans and set aside.
  • Step 8
Bake at 200 °C for 10 minutes, then lower to 180°C and bake for another 20 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and the center is caramel colored.
  • Step 9
Let cool 15 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
