  • Step 1
    Add all dry ingredients (flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt) to a bowl.
  • Step 2
    Using two bowls, separate the egg yolk from the white.
  • Step 3
    Mix the yolk with the milk.
  • Step 4
    Add the egg/milk mixture to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.
  • Step 5
    Add the melted butter and continue to stir.
  • Step 6
    Add a pinch of salt to the egg white and whisk until peaks form.
  • Step 7
    With a spatula, carefully incorporate the egg whites.
  • Step 8
    Heat a lightly buttered frying pan to medium-high heat. Pour the batter, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake.

    Cook approximately 2 minutes, until bubbles start to form and then flip.
  • Step 10
    Cook for an additional 2 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Step 11
    Continue until you've used all the batter.
  • Step 12
    Serve the pancakes with the chocolate spread.

    Optional: add a few hazelnuts or crushed almonds. Breakfast is ready!
