  • Step 1
    Finely chop the onions.
  • Step 2
    Wash, peel and chop the carrots in small cubes.
  • Step 3
    In a large pot, add a bit of olive oil and cook the onions for 1 minute.
  • Step 4
    Next add, the lemon juice, tumeric, carrots. Mix.
  • Step 5
    Then grains, 1.5 cups of water per person, vegetable stock cube and tomato paste, salt and pepper.
  • Step 6
    Mix and cover and simmer on a low heat for 30 minutes.
  • Step 7
    Once cooked, season to taste.
  • Step 8
    Optional: add a bit of cream or coconut milk if you have any and serve!
