Caramelized Beef with Onions & Rice

Flank steak
70 g
White rice (long grain)
1/4
Yellow onion
2 tbsp
Soy sauce
5 g
Corn starch
1 tbsp
Honey

- Step 1
In a pot of salted boiling water, cook the rice according to package instructions. Once cooked through, drain the rice. Keep warm. - Step 2
Meanwhile, peel & thinly slice the onions. - Step 3
Slice the beef into thin strips. - Step 4
Marinate the beef. In a bowl add : the beef, soya sauce, honey & cornstarch. Optional: add a drizzle of water to dilute the sauce. Stir to evenly coat & set aside for 4-5 min. - Step 5
Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a pan, over medium heat. Add the onions & sauté for 3 mins, stirring. - Step 6
Add the steak & marinade to the pan. Cook for 4-6 min, stirring, until the marinade has caramelised. - Step 7
Serve the caramelised beef on a bed of fluffy rice. Top with fresh coriander, if you have some & re-season to taste. Enjoy !
