recipe
- Step 1
Peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes. - Step 2
In a pot of salted boiling water, cook the potatoes for 15 minutes, or until fork tender. - Step 3
While the potatoes are cooking, chop the shallots and set aside. - Step 4
After 15 minutes, drain the potatoes. - Step 5
Add the potatoes to a bowl and season with salt & pepper. (Optional: add a pinch of nutmeg) - Step 6
Add the milk and butter (1 tbsp per person). Mash to the desired consistency. Cover and keep warm. - Step 7
Melt the rest of the butter in a pan on medium-heat, add the shallots and cook for 2 minutes. - Step 8
Add the beef patties to the pan and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side (or longer for more well-done meat). Add salt and pepper on each side. - Step 9
While the pan is still hot, add 2 tbsp water per person to the pan to create a jus. Let thicken for 1-2 minutes. - Step 10
Serve the burger with the mashed potatoes and sauce. Enjoy!
