- Step 1
Peel the potatoes and cut them into 1-inch cubes. - Step 2
Boil a pot of water, add salt and the diced potatoes. Cook for 15 minutes. - Step 3
In a second pot of boiling salted water, add the green beans and cook for 12 minutes. - Step 4
In the meantime, chop the shallots. - Step 5
Once the green beans and potatoes are done cooking, drain. - Step 6
Add the potatoes to a bowl and season with salt & pepper. Optional: Add a pinch of nutmeg. - Step 7
Add the milk and butter (1 tsp per person). Mash until smooth (add some extra milk if too thick). Cover to keep the mashed potatoes and string beans warm until serving. - Step 8
In a pan on medium heat, melt the butter and add the shallots. Sauté for 2 minutes. - Step 9
Add the burgers to the pan and cook for 1 minute on each side. Cook for longer depending on how you like your meat. - Step 10
Add 2 tablespoons of water per person to the pan to deglaze. Let it thicken for 1-2 minutes to create a sauce. - Step 11
Serve everything together and top with the sauce. Enjoy!
