- Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Finely chop the onions. - Step 2
In a large frying pan, add a drizzle of olive oil and sauté the onion and grated or diced garlic. Cook for 2 minutes on medium-high heat. - Step 3
Add the ground beef and brown for 4 minutes. - Step 4
Add the tomato sauce, salt, pepper and thyme. Optional: add fresh or dried basil - Step 5
Cook on low heat while you're preparing the bechamel sauce. - Step 6
In another pan, melt the butter on low heat. - Step 7
Add the flour, stirring rapidly. - Step 8
Slowly add the milk with a whisk, while constantly stirring until smooth. - Step 9
Add salt and pepper and mix. Optional: add a pinch of nutmeg. Remove from heat. - Step 10
In an oven-safe dish, layer the bolognese sauce, mozzarella, bechamel sauce and lasagna noodles (uncooked). - Step 11
After making 3 layers, top with a layer of bechamel sauce and top with mozzarella. - Step 12
Baking at 180°C for 40 minutes. - Step 13
