  • Step 1
    Preheat the oven to 200°C. Using a mixer, chop the dried fruit into small pieces. Add the sugar,* 2 tablespoons of orange blossom water, and 2/3 of a cup of melted butter. *Check out our tips for this step
  • Step 2
    Melt the remainder of the butter. Cut the pastry sheets to fit the size of the pan you're using (we used a 29 cm diameter dish here). Lay 5 sheets into the pan and brush them with butter.
  • Step 3
    Add in half of the dried fruit filling. Then cover with another 5 sheets of pastry, and brush them with butter. Add in the rest of the filling and cover with a final 5 buttered pastry sheets.

    Using a knife, cut the baklava into diamonds and bake for 20 minutes at 200°C.
  • Step 5
    Meanwhile, heat 2 tablespoons of orange blossom water in a pot with the honey, and melt them together over low heat for 5 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Remove the baklava from the oven. Pour the honey and orange blossom mixture over the baklava and leave to cool before eating. Serve and enjoy!

Recipe tip

If you wish to reduce sugar quantities, you can remove up to ⅓ of the sugar in this recipe without altering flavor.
