- Step 1

Delicately crack the eggs into the butter / sugar mixture. Add a pinch of salt (optional). Close the lid with the top on & continue mixing for another 20 sec / speed 5, until you obtain a smooth mixture. - Step 3
For an more moist cake, replace ¼ of the flour (50g) with almond meal. Add them to the batter & close the lid with the top on. Continue mixing for another 40 sec / speed 5. - Step 4
Peel & slice the apples into wedges. - Step 5
In a cake tin (we used a 29 x 10 cm dish here), place a layer of apples. Pour the cake batter into the tine & top with the remaining apples. - Step 6
Sprinkle over with a teaspoon of sugar & some slivered almonds. Bake for 10 min at 220°C, then lower the heat to 180°C& continue baking for another 30 min. - Step 7
Once the loaf is golden, plant the tip of a knife into the center of the loaf. If it comes out clean, the loaf is ready, otherwise, bake it for another 2-3 min. Leave to cool before serving & enjoy !
Recipe tip
If you wish to reduce sugar quantities, you can remove up to ⅓ of the sugar in this recipe without altering flavor.
